<br />.- <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />UNION AVENUE DAM MODIFICATIONS <br />WORK PLAN <br /> <br />Wright Water Engineers will commence work immediately upon receiving a <br />notice to proceed. Our scope of work is as described below. <br /> <br />SCOPE OF WORK <br /> <br />Professional engineering services will be prOVided in an efficient and <br />methodical manner for the design and construction of retrofit modifications <br />to the existing dam structure and river channel of the South Platte River <br />at the Union Avenue Dam seven miles downstream of Chatfield Reservoir. <br />The primary purpose of the work is to improve public safety. <br /> <br />I. PRELIMINARY DESIGN <br /> <br />A. This phase involves establishment of the general layout size and <br />scope of the project, and its exact location on the site. The <br />preliminary engineering services will include: <br /> <br />1. Consultation with the CWCB, clarification and definition of <br />the project requirements, review of available data, and <br />decisions on scheduling of the project including design and <br />construction. Conferences may also be held as required with <br />approving regulatory agencies, the City of Englewood, City <br />of Sheridan. Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, the <br />USACE and State Engineers office. <br /> <br />2. Advice to CWCB about' necessary field information to be <br />furnished by CWCB or obtained from others. These special <br />services may include additional geotechnical information, <br />landscape design, land boundary surveying. field instrument <br />surveying, aquatic (fisheries). zoning. deed, and other land <br />use restriction information; and environmental assessment <br />statements in case a 404 permit is needed. <br /> <br />3. Estimate of probable costs for the project based on the <br />preliminary design data. <br /> <br />4. Preparation and submittal to CWCB of preliminary drawings <br />clearly showing design layout, elevations and details of the <br />proposed improvements. <br /> <br />5. Analysis of existing utilities and Englewood intake. <br /> <br /> <br />6. Structural analysis of existing dam structure. <br />
