I'm sure yOLl are bu,sy as always.

I have a quick question for you rE~garding the precipitat~ion in 1997.
When I compile a table of the significa.nt storms, the big ones in
terms of total accumulated precipitation are in north-eastern
Colorado. From Elbert County north to Phillips and Weld. The
southern counties seemed to receive aIot of rain but it seemed to be
general type rain over a larger area. You don't see any of the 10 to
14 inch storms that were observed in Larimer, \~Jeld, Logan, Morgan, and
Elbert Counties.

The question is two-fold. 1) does this coincide whith what you know
of the 1997 storm season, and 2) why were the bigqer storms clustered
in the north-eastern portion of the state?

Have a great holiday.

Thanks
Markus Ritsch

Markus Ritsch

-- 1

Thu, 2 Jul 1998 l7:12:0J
