<br /> <br />e <br /> <br />PREFACE <br /> <br />The serie8 of manual8 on techniques describes procedures for planning and <br />executing specialized work in water-resources investigations. The material i8 <br />grouped under major subject heading8 called books and further subdivided into <br />sections and chapters; Section A of Book 3 is on surface water. <br />Provisional drafts of chapters are distributed to field offices of the U.S. <br />Geological Survey for their use. The8e drafts are 8ubject to revi8ion because of <br />experience in use or becau8e of advancement in knowledge, techniques, or <br />eqnipment. After the technique described in a chapter is sufficiently developed, <br />the chapter is published and is sold by the U.S. Geological Survey, 604 South <br />Pickett Street, Alexandria, VA 22304 (authorized agent of Superintendent of <br />Documents, Government Printing Office). <br /> <br />m <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br />
