The material i8 <br />grouped under major subject heading8 called books and further subdivided into <br />sections and chapters; Section A of Book 3 is on surface water. <br />Provisional drafts of chapters are distributed to field offices of the U.S. <br />Geological Survey for their use. The8e drafts are 8ubject to revi8ion because of <br />experience in use or becau8e of advancement in knowledge, techniques, or <br />eqnipment.
