<br />revisions were the result of floodplain modifications along San <br />Miguel River including the construction of bridges, removal of <br />bridges and the placement of fill. <br /> <br />1.3 Coordination <br /> <br />Upon initiation of the original study, a legal notice was placed in <br />the Telluride Times on July 15, 1976, to notify all interested <br />persons so they could submit any relevant facts and technical data <br />concerning local flood hazards. <br /> <br />A search for basic data was made at all levels of government. <br />Federal, state, and local agencies were contacted as to the <br />availability of any reports, studies, or investigations which might <br />contain information relative to flooding problems in the community. <br /> <br />An initial community coordination meeting was held on July 19, <br />1976. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Town of <br />Telluride and San Miguel County; FEMA; the State Coordination <br />Agency, the Colorado Water Conservation aoard (eweB); and COM, the <br />study contractor. The purpose ~f this meeting was to discuss the <br />nature and purpose of the study,~the scope and limits of work, and <br />flood information currently available concerning the community. <br /> <br />During the course of the work for the initial study by COM, the <br />results of hydrologic analyses were reviewed by the U.S. Army ~orps <br />of Engineers (COE), Sacramento District, the U.S. Geological Survey <br />(USGS), the U.S. Soil Conservation Service (SCS), and the CWCB. <br />The final consultation and coordination meetings were held on <br />Monday, August 15, 1977, at the San Miguel County Court House and <br />the Town Hall of Telluride. In attendance were representatives of <br />the co_unities, FEMA, the ewCB, and the study contractor. The <br />results of the original study were presented to and accepted by the <br />cOlllDUnities. <br /> <br />2.0 AREA STUDIED <br /> <br />2.1 Scope of Study <br /> <br />This Flood Insurance Study covers the geographic area of San Miguel <br />County, Colorado. The area of study is shown on the Vicinity Map <br />(Figure 1). <br /> <br />The areas studied by detailed methods were selected <br />given to all known flood hazard areas and areas <br />development or proposed construction. <br /> <br />wi th priori ty <br />of projected <br /> <br />Areas studied by detailed methods are shown in Table 1. <br /> <br />2 <br />
