<br />6. <br /> <br />4.A.(6)(h) A "Flood Control Dam" is a special purpose dam <br />which is. normally dry and has an ungated outlet structure which will <br />drain the water impounded during the flood. The jurisdictional size <br />and classification of the dam are determined assuming the reservoir is <br />full to the emergency spillway. <br /> <br />4.A.(7) "Dam Failure Inundation Map" is a map depicting the area <br />downstream from a dam which would reasonably be expected to be flooded <br />in the event of the failure of a dam. <br /> <br />4.A.(8) "Day" as used in these Rules means a calendar day. For <br />computation of time periods as used in these rules, Colorado Rules of <br />Civil Procedure 6(a) shall apply. <br /> <br />4.A.(9) "Emergency Preparedness Plans" are written documents <br />prepared by the dam owner, describing a detailed plan to prevent or <br />. lessen the effects of a potential dam failure. <br /> <br />4.A.(lO)" "Engineer" means a Professional Engineer registered and <br />licensed in Colorado in accordance with Section 12-25-101, C.R.S. <br />(1985) . <br /> <br />4.A.(II) "Enlargement to an Existing Dam or Appurtenant <br />Structure" means any alteration, modification, or repair which <br />increases the vertical height of a dam as defined in Rule 4.A.(32). <br /> <br />4.A.(12) "Erosion Control Dam" means a dam constructed for the <br />purpose of controlling erosion. having a vertical height not exceeding <br />15 feet from the bottom of the channel at the upstream toe of the dam <br />to the crest of the spillway, having a capacity not exceeding 10 <br />acre-feet at the emergency spillway level, and having an ungated out- <br />let works at the two acre-foot level or lower. The water course upon <br />which the dam Is located is normally dry. <br /> <br />4.A. (13) "Freeboard" means the vertical dimension from the flow- <br />line crest (or bottom) of the emergency spillway to the low point on <br />the crest of the dam. <br /> <br />4.A. (13a) "Residual Freeboard" means the vertical dimension <br />between the maximum water surface elevation, during the inflow design <br />flood for the reservoir, and the low point on the crest of the dam. <br /> <br />4.A.(14) "Flowline Crest" means the highest elevation of the <br />floor <>f a spillway at which uncontrolled flow begins. <br /> <br />4.A.(15) "High Water Line" is the water surface elevation of the <br />reservoir at the flowline crest of the emergency spillway or, if no <br />spillway exists. at the crest of the dam. <br /> <br />- 5 - <br />
