<br />6.A.(4}(a)(llI) Existing Hinor Class II dillls, and <br />large, Iptermediate, and Small Class III dams shall have spillways <br />capable of passing the 100-year IDFas defined in Rule S.A. (5)(d). <br /> <br />6.A.(4)(a)(IV) Ex15ting Hinor Class III, and <br />large and Intermediate Class IV dams shall have, spillways capable of <br />passing the 50-year 10F as defined in Rule 5.A.(5)(d). <br /> <br />6.A.(4)(a)(V) Existing Small and Hinor Class IV <br />dams ,shall have spillways capable of passing the 25-year 10F as <br />defined by Rule 5.A. (S)(d). <br /> <br />6.A.(4)(a)(VI) The minimum size spillway for all <br />existing Class I dams and large, Intermediate, and Small Class II <br />dams, for which an incremental damage analys15 shows a sOllner spill" <br />way Is justifiable under Rule 5.A.(5)(c), is the 100-year flood as <br />defined by Rule S.A.(5)(d). <br /> <br />6.A.(4)(a)(VII) For dams whose spillway cannot <br />pass the .IDF as defined above, the engineer may, as an alternative. <br />provide documentation that overtopping by floods which exceed the <br />spillway capacity, will not cause failure of the dam. <br /> <br />6.A.(4)(b) The minimum freeboard requirements for an <br />existing dam shall be based upon the maximum depth determined to <br />either. prevent overtopping by wave action, or which will pass thelDF. <br />or a minimum of three feet, unless the State Engineer approves less <br />for good cause shown. <br /> <br />Rule 7. ReauirsMP-rits for Remn~ino or Breachino an Extstino Dam <br /> <br />Rule 7.A. An owner proposing to Remove or Breach a dam shall <br />submit an application paCkage in a form acceptable to the State <br />Engineer prior to commencing work.
