Municipal bond dealers that finance <br /> <br />projects like urban drainage projects should also be <br /> <br />consulted to see what interest they would require to <br /> <br />finance money for the jurisdictions involved. The esti- <br /> <br />mated amount of money to be financed will affect the <br /> <br />selection of the discount rate. <br /> <br />Step 7 Obtain and Develop Appropriate Depth Versus Damaqe <br /> <br />Tables or Curves <br /> <br />Flood damages are calculated with the use of depth of <br /> <br />flooding versus dollar damage tables and curves for various <br /> <br />types of structures. Several government organizations have <br /> <br />compiled data of this type including the Federal Insurance <br /> <br />Administration (FIA) , The Corps of Engineers, the Soil Conser- <br /> <br />vation Service (SCS), and the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). <br /> <br />It is felt that presently the PIA has the most usable informa- <br /> <br />tion for estimating flood damages for residential structures. <br /> <br />It is recommended that the two FIA depth versus flood damage <br /> <br />~ Leonard Rice Consulting Water Engineers, Inc. <br />
