<br />The hydraulic analysis for a portion of Unnamed Creek was <br />performed by Holland Corporation in 1984 (Reference 6). <br /> <br />1.3 Coordination <br /> <br />Community base map selection and the identification of streams <br />requlrlng detailed study were accomplished in meetings <br />attended by personnel of Gingery Associates, Inc., the Federal <br />Emergency Management Agency (F!KA), and officials of the City <br />of Aurora on December S, 1975, and .June 8, 1976. Further <br />meetings were beld with the Colorado Water Conservation Board, <br />the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, F!KA, Gingery <br />Associates, Inc., and tbe City of Aurora on May 26, 1976, to <br />discuss study areal and procedures. <br /> <br />On .June 8, 1976, a meeting and field review were beld to <br />discuII and inspect tbe ,floodplainl in the 5=fty of Aurora. AI <br />a direct result of tbe field trip, proposed studies on Side <br />Creek, Side Creek Tributary, Welt Toll Gate Tributary between <br />Hampden and Yale, and Columbia Creek were changed from a <br />detailed analysil to an approximate floodplain delineation. <br />This change in study Icope wal agreed to by FEKA, Cingery <br />Associates, Inc., and tbe City of Aurora. <br /> <br />On May 5, 1977, tbe relults of tbe work by Gingery Asso~iates, <br />Inc., were reviewed at a public meeting attended by personnel <br />of Gingery Associatel I~c., FEKA, and officials,of the City of <br />Aurora, Colorado. There was concern exprelsed over the width <br />of tbe floodplain in the Horris Heights addition, just south <br />of Peoria. Gingery Associates, Inc., reviewed the area before <br />submitting the study. <br /> <br />Numerous other agencies and individuals were contacted for <br />background information; tbese agencies included the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board (Referenee 7), the Colorado Highway <br />Department, tbe Union Pacific Railroad, and the U.S. Soil <br />Conservation Service. <br /> <br />2.0 AREA STUDIED <br /> <br />2.1 Scope of Study <br /> <br />This Flood Inlurance Study coverS tbe incorporlted Ireas of <br />the City of Aurora. The area of study is shown on the <br />Vicinity Hap (Figure 1).. <br /> <br />Tbe sreas Itudied by detailed metbodl were lelected with <br />priority given to ,all known flood ha"ard areas and areas of <br />projected development Dr proposed construction through 1991. <br /> <br />Approximate analyses were. used to study those areas having a <br />low development potential or minimal flood hazards.
