<br />10. Flood Plain Definition. Natural waterways having adequate capacity <br />for the desIgn runoff will be flood-plain zoned to protect their <br />capacity from encroachment. <br /> <br />II. Detention Storage. Storage will be utilized wherever practical <br />to reduce peak flow rates. Existing emb,~nkments which provide de- <br />tention storage should be protected 50 as to not create a life <br />hazard and so that damages downstr"am an. not Increased because of <br />embankment washouts. provisions must be made for occurances greater <br />than the 100 year design frequency. <br /> <br />12. Sedimentation. The design criteria anticipate the regular removal <br />of sediment and debris from the basins for use as construction <br />materials and for solid waste disposal cover material. <br /> <br />Care sha 11 be taken to des i gn ponds with flood rou t i ng procedu res, <br />and have adequate emergency sp I llways. <br /> <br />13.
