Performance and Payment Bonds: Within 10 days after the <br />prescribed forms are presented to the bidder to whom award is made for signa- <br />ture, a written contract on the form prescribed by the specifications shall <br />be eKecuted and two bonds, each with good and sufficient surety or sureties <br />acceptable to the Government, furnished; namely a performance bond (Standard <br />Form 25) and a payment bond (Standard Form 25A). The cost of premiums for <br />performance and payment bonds shall be included in the bid price. The penal <br />sums of such bonds will be as follows: <br /> <br />(1) Performance Bond: The penal sum of the performance bond <br />shall equal one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. <br /> <br />~ <br /> <br />(2) Payment Bond: <br /> <br />(a) When the contract price is $1,000,000 or less, the <br />penal sum will be fifty percent (50%) of the contract price. <br /> <br />, <br /> <br />(b) When the contract price is in excess of $1,000,000 <br />but not more than $5,000,000, the penal sum shall be forty percent (40%) of <br />the contract price. <br /> <br />IB-4 <br /> <br />. <br />
