RE: Parachute Floodplain Information Report, October 1989

Dear D::,. Lio"..:.:

It is my understanding you are in the process of reviewing
floodplain information reports, that will convert the Town of
Parachute from the FEMA Emergency Phase into the FEMA Regular
Phase. The Town is requesting that the report prepared by J.E.
Langford & Associates from Grand Junction, CO, titled "Floodplain
Information Report: PARACHUTE CREEK-COLORADO RIVER, October 1989"
be used for the reclassification of Parachute, CO.

I have enclosed a copy of the Town's current floodplain
ordinance, approved on July 11, 1985. While you are reviewing
the floodplain information reports, would you please review and
recommend any changes needed to bring our present floodplain
ora~nance up to date? As I understand it, September 30, 1991 is
the deadline for entities to have in place an updated floodplain
ordinance that reflects new guidelines set forth by FEMA.
