CRITERIA for locating required control markers are based on:
1. Traverse locations parallel with the project area corridor.
2. Interval and spacing of control points in compliance with
project ground control survey requirements and additional
bench marks indicated at the ground elevations prescribed.
3. Visibility between points ,(or with azimuth lIk1.rk references)
4. Locations: within public right-of-ways or easements undis-
turbed by normal area uses; near easily identified objects,
in accessible areas; clearly identified on the ground and
shown on a photograph.

CRITERIA for reference ties to control markers are based on:
1. For local proximity, at least three accurate measurements
from semi-permanent marks on fixed structural objects, such
as footings, corners and walls of structures; surfaces of
concrete objects, such as curbs, walks, pavement, etc.; and
from spikes in large trees and poles, etc.
2. For general vicinity, at least two surface measurements to
visually observed structural objects of a permanent nature,
such as drives, roads, streets, highways, railroads, etc.
One of the surface measurements, for the bench mark control
markers required, will be made to the flow line of the
stream course.
