The Contractor's attention is directed to the soils report <br />prepared for this project. Soil information made available to prospec- <br />tive bidders shall be for informative purposes only and shall not be con- <br />sidered as part of the Contract Documents. Soils information was devel- <br />oped as accurately as possible by the methods utilized. The City of <br />Ouray accepts no responsibility for conditions encountered which may vary <br />for the information provided. Copies of the report are available through <br />the City of Ouray. <br /> <br />2. Utility locations, as shown on the plans, were compiled based on the best <br />information available. Utility locations are not intended to be exact or <br />complete, The Contractor is responsible to determine the location and <br />elevation of all utility line crossings and relocate them underneath the <br />proposed flume as necessary. Concrete encasements shall extend to the <br />limits stated in the Contract Documents. <br /> <br />3. Twelve-inch PVC pipe shall be installed and capped with push-on cap or <br />push-in plugs at the locations shown on the Drawings for future utilities. <br /> <br />4. Vertical control is based on benchmark elevation 7800.86 stamped on the <br />brasscap monument placed in the west end of the south wall of the <br />Beaumont Hotel. Horizontal control is based on state plane coordinate <br />grid. Project survey control points are shown on the Drawings. <br />Construction staking is the responsibility of the Contractor. Construc- <br />tion staking shall be performed under supervision of a land surveyor <br />registered in the State of Colorado. <br /> <br />5. A preconstruction conference shall be held prior to commencement of <br />construction. Attendees shall include representatives of the Owner, <br />Engineer, and Contractor. Items to be discussed at the conference will <br />include methods for maintaining drainage, protection of existing struc- <br />tures and utilities, responsibilities of the Engineer, and all other per- <br />tinent items of discussion. <br /> <br />6. Right-of-way is shown on the Drawings as are any construction easements. <br />The Contractor shall confine his operations within these limits. If the <br />Contractor desires additional construction easements for his convenience, <br />he shall obtain these additional easements at his sole expense. Easement <br />agreements made by the Contractor shall be submitted to the Engineer <br />prior to entry into these areas. <br /> <br />7, Where submittals are required in the Contract Documents. the Contractor <br />shall make such submittals to the Engineer for approval at lease three <br />calendar weeks prior to beginning work on affected items.
