Authorization

(3) Prepare plan and profile drawings of the Henry's Lake Basin drainageway
showing the 100-year floodplain and the 10-year and lOO-year flood
profiles based upon future basin development conditions and existing
channel conditions.

CHAPTER I - INTRODUCTION

This study, covering the storm drainage aspects and flood hazard area
delineation (FHAD) for Henry's Lake Basin was authorized under the terms of the
contract between the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District (UD&FCD), the City of
Lakewood, Jefferson County, and Water Resources Consultants, Inc. (WRC), dated July
20, 1982. The notice to proceed was given on October 25, 1982.

F1 oodplai ns are often a1 tered by road and bridge construction, development
within the floodplain, flood control improvements, or by natural processes. Prior
to utilizing the information contained in this report for the purposes of planning
or design, the user is advised to contact the UD&FCD or the Colorado Water
Conservation Board (CWCB) to determine if the information in this report has been
amended.

The original study area was amended by Addendum No. I, dated December 29, 1982,
which extended the FHAD study to an area east of the original study limit to account
for a flow split originating in the area of the Academy Park Development at Hampden
Avenue.

C. Information Procurement

The participating or sponsoring governmental agencies for this study are the
UD&FCD, Jefferson County, and the City of Lakewood. The mapping of the basin was
accomplished under separate contract between the UD&FCD and Landmark Mapping
Company. Excellent cooperation and assistance was provided throughout the study by
the City of Lakewood, Jefferson County, and UD&FCD staff.

During the process of this study, several agencies, organizations, and
individuals were contacted by WRC staff members to obtain data and history on the
storm drainage within the study area. A considerable amount of data was provided by
the City of Lakewood and Jefferson County staff.

We received excellent cooperation from all the agencies and individuals that
have interest in the Henry's Lake Basin study area. The fOllowing is a list of
agencies and individuals and the information they have provided.

B.
