<br />FPR 196 / <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />August 16, 1982 <br /> <br />R <br /> <br />E <br /> <br />S <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />L U <br /> <br />T ION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, Town of <br />Gypsum, COlorado, Eagle County," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for Gypsum Creek and the Eagle River, dated <br />March 16, 1981, has been prepal::ed by Gingery Associates, Inc., <br />under contract .with the Federal Insurarice Administration, and <br /> <br />_WHEREAS, said report describes arid outlinesthEi floodplain <br />data and information for the storm and, floodwater. runoff channels <br />or basins withirithecurrent~orporate limits of the Town of <br />Gypsum; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Gypsum has requested the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain areas <br />as set forth in the aforesaid report for Gypsum Creek only; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the prevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-10E;(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />of ,floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-.28-111, Colorado Revised . <br />Statutes 1973, provide that s~ch legislative bodies' of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater r~noff. channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by 1::he Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water: Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to <br />make such designations available' to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the aoard has rev iewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the, Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as describ€:d by the floodwater ~urface elevations and profiles in <br />said report for Gypsum Creek only; <br />
