OL Y T ION <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Information, Animas River and Hemosa Creek, Hemosa, <br />Colorado," dated October, 1977, has been prepared by the United <br />States Amy Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District,. at the request <br />of La Plata County and the Animas Regional Planning Commission; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and infomatin for the stom and floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of La Plata <br />County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board to desig- <br />nate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid <br />report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris- <br />may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any <br />floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and <br />by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and <br /> <br />Statutes <br />dictions <br />stom or <br />approval <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-l06(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate and <br />approve stom or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make <br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdic- <br />tions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommpnd to theColoradQ Water Conservation Board that <br />the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas <br />inundated by a lOO-year flood (intemediate regional flood) as <br />described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said <br />report; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conser- <br />vation Board in regular meeting assembled in Montrose, Colorado, this <br />12th day of May, 1978, that it does hereby designat~ and approve as <br />floodplain areas those areas described as being inundated by a 100- <br />year flood as set forth in said report; and <br />
