Telephone Tree <br />A telephone tree for Buffalo Creek residents will be established as a measure to warn citizens of <br />a flash flood warning or impending flooding, The telephone tree will be activated and utilized as <br />described in the sections below. Copies of the telephone tree have been distributed to the <br />affected residents. <br /> <br /> <br />3, Flash Flood Watch <br />If the National Weather Service issues a Flash Flood Watch for the Buffalo Creek area, Jefferson <br />County Sheriffs dispatch will notify the Resident Deputy, the North Fork Fire Department, and <br />the mountain area bus barn for R-I Schools (if during normal school hours), The emergency <br />pagers will be set off by the Resident Deputy or sheriff s dispatch. Residents will need to be <br />aware of changing weather and should be prepared to take emergency measures. <br /> <br />4, Flash Flood Warning <br />If the National Weather Service issues a Flash Flood Warning for the Buffalo Creek area, <br />Jefferson County Sheriffs dispatch will notify the Resident Deputy, the North Fork Fire <br />Department, and mountain area bus barn for R-I schools (if during normal school hours), The <br />emergency pagers will be set off by the Resident Deputy or Jefferson County dispatch, The <br />Resident Deputy will also activate the emergency phone tree system. If the Resident Deputy <br />cannot be contacted, or if he requests, Jefferson County Sheriffs dispatch will activate the <br />emergency phone tree system, <br /> <br />The Resident Deputy, the North Fork Fire Department personnel, and citizens in the flood hazard <br />areas will update the National Weather service on actual weather conditions, Several Weather <br />Service rain gauges have been placed near homes in the Buffalo Creek vicinity, and those <br />homeowners will inform the National Weather Service of rainfall amounts, <br /> <br />17 <br />
