Statement of Qualifications

PROJECT
APPROACH

Each floodplain study review will consist of information gathering,
technical review, and summary offmdings.

At the onset of the review TC&B will obtain the necessary
background information and will review the designation process with
the local officials. During this phase, we will

~ Conduct a telephone interview with local officials to discuss
the review and floodplain designation process. We will
follow-up with a letter summarizing the process.

~ Compile a history of prior floodplain delineations for the
affected community. This will be accomplished by
interviewing local officials over the telephone, reviewing
CWCB files, and reviewing background information contained
in the report.

The technical review of the study will be performed in accordance
with CWCB's "Rules and Regulations". For each study we will

~ Review the topographic base mapping, hydrologic and
hydraulic analysis, and published report and map will be
reviewed for conformance with the CWCB criteria.

~ Review for inconsistencies between the flood profiles and
floodplain delineation.

~ Review for inconsistencies at the upstream and downstream
limits that abut other delineations.

~ review for inconsistendes with prior studies.

~ Compute IOO-year peak discharges for Zone A (approximate)
floodplain areas utilizing CWCB's guidelines, when
necessary .

~ For those maps that do not have an associated report. prepare a
floodplain information report (FIR) or hydrology addendum to
accompany floodplain maps using CWCB's standard
boilerplate report.

When the review is complete we will summarize our finding for the
CWCB staff.

Turner Collie & Braden Inc.
