WHEREAS, a floodplain information repqrt entitled '''floodplain
information and urban drainage report. cedar Creek, Montrose
Arroyo, Dry Cedar Creek." dated April, 1979. has been prepared by
Hydro-Triad. Ltd., Water Resource Engineers, at the request of the
,City of Montrose and ,Montrose County; and

WHEREAS, said report describes. and outlines 'the floodplain
data and,' information for the storm' and floodwater runoff channels
or basins of- the study area; and

WHEREAS, the City of Montrose and the Board of countY ,
Commissioners of Montrose County have requested the Colorado Water
Conservation, Board to designa.te and approve the flobdplain,areas
as s,et forth in the aforesaid report; and

WHEREAS. section 37-60-l06(l) , coloradO Revised Statutes 1973.
requires the colorado Water Conservation Board to ,assist in the
prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, ,Sections 31-23-201, and 30-28-111. Colorado Revised
Stat,utes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of. local
jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations fOr land uses on Or
along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after
, designation and approval by the ColOrado Water Conservation Board;
and

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised statutes
1973. directs the ColoradO Water Conservation Board to designate
and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to
make such designations available to legislative bodies of local
jurisdictions; and "

WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and
does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board
that the Board designate and approve as floOdplain areas those
areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood)
as described by the floodwater surface elevations and prOfiles in
said report;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water conser-
vationBoard in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado,
this 2nd day of December, 1980, that it does hereby designate and
