<br />44 <br /> <br />Local Subdivision Ordinance Sections <br />21.05 Drainage and Storm Sewers <br />21.05.01 Definitions <br />21.05.02 General Provisions <br />21.05.03 Drainage Basin Studies <br />21.05.04 Off-Site Drainage Fee <br />21.05.01 Definitions <br />(a) Drainage Basin: <br />An area of land - generally between 10 and 100 square miles - defined <br />by physical boundaries such that all precipitation falling upon this area <br />will drain by gravity toward a common watercourse such as a natural <br />stream, river, or man-made channel and will ultimately exit the area at <br />a specific point known as the outfall (also referred to as basin). <br />(b) Drainage Sub-basin: <br />An area of land - generally between 1 and 10 square miles - contained <br />within a drainage basin. Each drainage sub-basin has its own physical <br />characteristics and has all the qualities of a drainage basin. The drain- <br />age basin is divided into several drainage sub-basins in order to more <br />carefully analyze each portion of the drainage basin (also referred to <br />as sub-basin). <br />(c) Off-site Drainage Facilities: <br />Drainage facilities physically located outside of the subdivision in <br />question, or the excess capacity portion of drainage facilities physical- <br />ly located within or adjacent to the subdivision in question. These . <br />facilities are not the sole responsibility of the owner/developer of the <br />subdivision in question; the cost of these facilities shall be shared <br />with the owner/developer and the (name of city or county). <br />
