No. 147 COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD 823 State Centennial Building 1313 Sherman Street Denver, Colorado 80203 December,S, 1979 RE S 0, L UTI 0 N ,WHEREAS, a floodplain 'information report entitled "'Flood Plain Information, South Platte River and Pawriee Creek,- ,Sterling, Colorado," dated September, 1978, has been 'prepared' by the United States Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District, at the request of Logan Courityand the Colorado Water Conserva- tion Board; and WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floodplain data and.information for the storm and floodwater runoff channels ,or basins of the study area; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners ,of -Logan County has requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board.to designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid report"; and WHEREAS" 'Section 3-7-60-106 (1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages there- from; and WHEREAS, Sections 3l-23~20l and 30-28-lll"Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local j.urisdictions. may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation Board; and . WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c) ,Colorado Revised Statutes 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation BOard to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins and to make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictions; and - WHEREAS; the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and does hereby recommend to ,the Colorado Water Conser- vation Board that the Board designate and approve as, floodplain areas those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; \' I
