<br />WHEREAS, said new report dated November 1996 provides detailed floodplain <br />information for Big Dry Creek from its confluence with the South Platte River upstream to its <br />headwater areas located within northern Douglas County; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report dated November 1996 revises, on the basis of updated land <br />use and revised hydrology and hydraulic analyses, all previous floodplain information for Big Dry <br />Creek within Arapahoe County, Douglas County, the City of Englewood, the City of Greenwood <br />Village, and the City of Littleton; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said new report dated November 1996 contains detailed floodplain information <br />for Big Dry Creek that is inconsistent with the previously designated detailed floodplain information <br />for Big Dry Creek contained in resolution Nos. 45, that is inconsistent with the designated portion of <br />the detailed information for Big Dry Creek contained in resolution No. 353, that is incollSistent with <br />the undesignated detailed and approximate information for Big Dry Creek contained for aforesaid <br />Arapahoe County Flood Insurance Study dated August 16, 1995, and that is incollSistent with the <br />previollSly designated approximate information for Big Dry Creek contained in resolution No. 428; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Littleton, the City of Englewood, the City of Greenwood Village, and <br />the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District have requested the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />to designate and approve the detailed floodplain information for Big Dry Creek contained in said new <br />report dated November 1996; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, requires the ColDrado Water <br />Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that <br />legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning reguiatiollS for land llSes on Dr along any <br />storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water <br />COllServation Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes, directs the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board to designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels, or basins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdictiollS; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the floodplain information in said new report dated November 1996 meets all of <br />the requirements for detailed information listed under the Board's "Rules and Regulations for the <br />Designation and Approval of FloodplaillS and of Storm or Floodwater Runoff Channels in Colorado" <br />(2 CCR 408-1); <br /> <br />. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water COllServation Board in <br />regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado, this 20th day of March, 1997, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as detailed floodplain information the 100-year floodplains for Big Dry Creek as <br /> <br />6 <br />
