DATA SDURCES
FDR
DDUGLAS COUNTY HUD-FIA STUDIES

1. The drainage basins were determined using 7.5 min. quad maps.

2. Point rainfall amounts were obtained from NOAA Atlas 2 and con-
verted to average precipitation over the watershed area by applying
areal adjustment (NEH-4).

3. The soils information was obtained from the SCS report of Soil
Survey of Castle Rock Area, November 1974, an unpublished SCS study
of the area and our field investigations.

4. Vegetation information was obtained from Natural Plant Cover Map,

Douglas County, October 1971 and SCS unpublished reports.

5. The Douglas County Comprehensive Land Use Plan, April 1974, land
Use Map, Douglas County, August 1973, and present zoning maps were
used to obtain the land use information.

6. Curve numbers were obtained from SCS unpublished studies of the
area, our field investigation, and NEH-4.

7. Time of concentration was obtained from SCS unpublished studies,
7.5 min. quad maps of the area and the BUREC publication, Design
of Small Dams.

8, Channel roughness coefficients were obtained from SCS unpublished
studies, Water Supply Paper 1849, Open Channel Hydraulics by Chaw,
Handbook of Applied Hydraulics by Davis and Sorensen, third edition,
and our field investigations.

9. Cross section data was obtained by field measurements. All bridges,

culverts and other structures were surveyed to obtain elevation

data and structural geometry.
