<br />. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the cWcB hereby advises the Town of Ovid that flooding damage could <br />occur to residential structures, infrastructure, and agricultural lands located adjacent to Lodgepole <br />Creek during a rare, but feasible, flood event caused by intense localized thunderstorms or general <br />rainstorms; and <br /> <br />DESIGNATION AND APPROVAL ACTION <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water Conservation Board in <br />regular meeting assembled in Colorado Springs, Colorado, this 20th day of March 2000, that it does <br />hereby designate and approve as approximate 1 DO-year floodplain information the Zone A areas <br />presented in said new Floodplain Information Report dated March 2000 that incorporates said <br />Flood Hazard Boundary Map dated November 21, 1978, providing that Town officials require a <br />developer or development proponent to submit a detailed floodplain analysis to the Town and to the <br />cWCB (as performed by a registered professional engineer) prior to any development activities; <br />and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Colorado Water Conservation Board does hereby <br />recommend that prudent land use decisions, building regulations, and planning studies be <br />implemented by the Town of Ovid; and <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Colorado Water Conservation Board encourages <br />the Town of Ovid to enter the National Flood Insurance Program at its own discretion on a <br />voluntary basis at such time that Town officials deem it appropriate; and <br /> <br />.
