<br />BILI:...f. <br /> <br />A BILL FOR AN ACT <br />JIMENDING 120-10-15 (10), C.R.S. 1963, CONCERNING THE POWERS OF <br />OFFICERS OF THE COLORADO STATE PATROL IN AN EMERGENCY. <br />lle It Enacted ki. the General AssemJ;~ o( the State of Co~orado: <br />SECTION 1. 120-10-15 (10), Colorado Revised StatutE!S 1963, is <br />hereby amended to read: <br />120-10-15. Powers and duties,of officers. (1) ThE! chief, and <br />all the officers appointed under the provisions of this article, <br />subjec~ to the exceptions stated in this subsection (101, shall not <br />be used at any time, nor under any circumstances, by any authority <br />of the state in any manner in the "mforcement of any law other than <br />that specifically provided in this article; provided, that in an <br />llmorgency, and with the approval of the E:e!6~ecl6-~tetE!-~at'!"e!-eee'!"El <br />GOVERNOR, they are authorized and ,,!mpowered to assist or aid any <br />shllriff or other peace officer in the pE!rformance of his duties upon <br />hi!> request. or the request of other local officials having jurisdic- <br />tion, and on such occ~sions, while so acting, they shall have the <br />powers and authority of any sheriff or other peace officer. Further- <br />mo:re, they shall not be deputized as deputy sheriffs or as other <br />peace officers by any local or state authority, nor shall they be <br />.required to serve or act on strike duty" riots, lockouts, or other <br />la:oor disputes, nor shall they perform any of the functions commonly <br />performed by the national guard. <br />SECTION 2. Safety clause.. The general assembly hereby finds, <br />determines, and declares that this act is necessary for the immediate <br />preservation of the public peace, health, and safety. <br /> <br />xix <br />
