<br />BILL A <br /> <br />A BILL FOR A,N ACT <br />AMENDING 3-17-3 (1), COLORADO REVISED STATUTES J.963, CONCERNING <br />THE DEFINITION OF "MAJOR DISASTER". <br />~ Jt Enacted ~ ~ General Assembly .Qi th~ State Qi !~olorado: <br />SECTION 1. 3-17-3 (1), Colorado Revised Statutes 1963, is <br />here!b)' amended to read: <br />a-17-3. Definitions. (1) "Major disaster" means flood, drought, <br />blil:zclrd, storm, CIVIL DISTURBANCE, insects or other pest. infestation, <br />plant contagion, pestilence, epidemic, hurricane, tornado, earthquake, <br />or other catastrophe in any part of the state and which is or threatens <br />to be of sufficient severity and magnitude and so widespread as to be <br />clearly beyond the actual and potential abilities of the local govern- <br />mental units and other agencies to deal with and therefore to require <br />summa:t'Y action and the expenditure by the state of public funds to <br />prevent or alleviate common distress Clr ha;~ard to life! or p:t'operty. <br />SECTION 2. Safety clause.
