<br />WATERCOURSE -- A natural or artificial channel, depression, dry <br />wash, slough, gulch, arroyo, stream, creek or drainageway, <br />continuously, intermittently or periodically. <br /> <br />WATER SURFACE ELEVATION -- The height, in relation to the National <br />Geodetic Vertical Datum (NGVD) of 1929 or other datum, where <br />specified, of floods of various magnitudes and frequencies in the <br />floodplains of costal or riverine areas, <br /> <br />ZONE A -- A zone on the FIRM containing areas of one-hundred-year <br />flood, where base flood elevations and flood hazard factors have <br />not been determined. <br /> <br />ZONE AS -- A zone on the FIRM containing areas of one-hundred-year <br />flood, where base flood elevations and flood hazard factors have <br />been determined. <br /> <br />ZONE B -- A zone of the FIRM containing areas between limits of the <br />one-hundred-year flood and five-hundred-year flood; or certain <br />areas subject to one-hundred-year flooding, with average depths <br />less than one (I) foot; or where the contributing damage area is <br />less than one (1) square mile; or areas protected by levees from <br />the base flood. <br /> <br />ZONE C -- A zone of the FIRM containing areas of minimal flooding. <br /> <br />97-6. General provisions. <br /> <br />A. Lands to which these regulations apply, These regulations apply to <br />all lands within the Town of Frisco which are in areas of special <br />flood hazard. <br /> <br />B. Basis for establishing the areas of special flood hazard. The <br />areas of special flood hazard are identified by the Federal <br />Insurance Adminis tration in a scientific and engineering report <br />entitled the "Flood Insurance Study for Frisco," dated May IS, <br />1980, which study, with accompanying Flood Insurance Rate Map, is <br />hereby adopted and declared to be a part of this chapter. The <br />Flood Insurance Study is on file at the Summit County Planning <br />Office, County Courthouse, Breckenridge, Colorado, and the Frisco <br />Town Hall, One Main Street, Frisco, Colorado. Special flood hazard <br />areas may also be defined by a Federal Emergency Management Agency <br />approved Conditional Letter of Map Revision or Final Letter of Map <br />Revision. Said information is on file at the Frisco Town Hall, <br />Frisco, Colorado. <br /> <br />C. Compliance. No structure or land shall hereafter be constructed, <br />located, extended, converted or altered without full compliance <br />with the terms of this chapter and other applicable regulations. <br /> <br />D. Abrogation and greater restrictions. This chapter is not intended <br />to repeal, abrogate or impair any existing easements, covenants, <br />deed restrictions or existing zoning or subdivision regulations. <br />Where this chapter and other ordinances conflict or overlap, <br />whichever imposed the more stringent restrictions shall prevail. <br />Nothing in these regulations shall be construed as exempting an <br /> <br />Page 8 <br />
