The <br />technology of accurate river and flood forecasting is dopendent <br />upon adequate end timely rainfall ond river stago data, and it is <br />eVen mOre 8ssential that such basic data be available, particularly <br />rainfall reports, for arSDS subject to flaoh flooding. Current <br />funding restraints prevent Weather euro~u op~ration of ths relatively <br />dense net~orks required. At prssent, the principal 88rvica the <br />We~ther Bure~u o~n p~ovide is tl general alert to the danga~ of <br />flash flooding on Wild Horoe_Dry Craek, Dry Crank, ~nd Goorlnight <br />Arroyo.
