FLOOD INSURANCE STUDY <br />WESTMINSTER, COLORADO <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1,1 Purpose of Study <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />, <br />The purpose of this final report is to document the <br />procedures used in determining the flood discharges of <br /> <br />the 10-, 50-, 100-, and SOO-year events for use in the <br />City of Westminster, Colorado, Flood Insurance Study. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />The final hydrology report supercedes the "Preliminary <br />Hydrologic Report for 100-year Existing and Developed <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Conditions, Big Dry Creek and Tributaries, Westminster <br />and Broomfield, Colorado", (Reference 10). <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />1.2 Scope of Study <br /> <br />For each of the study streams, a detailed hydrologic <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />analys is was conducted from the stream's source to its <br /> <br />mouth, with the exception of Big Dry Creek where the <br /> <br /> <br />downstream limit of study is Interstate 25. This <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />analysis included the computation of peak discharges <br />for floods of the selected recurrence intervals for <br /> <br />various points within the limits of study. <br /> <br />. <br />
