Box 17 <br /> <br /> <br />GRANBV <br /> <br />Zero & Jasper Streets <br /> <br />Granby, Colorado 80446 <br /> <br />November 5, 1985 <br /> <br /> <br />Mr. Larry Lang, Chief <br />Flood Control and Floodplain Management Section <br />Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />1313 Sherman, Room 721 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br /> <br />Dear Larry: <br /> <br />The To\~ of Granby hereby requests the assistance of the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in the adoption of a floodplain management program. <br />I have discussed various aspects of such a program with several members <br />of your staff, and the Granby Board of Trustees is interested in <br />adopting such a program for the protection of the town's citizens. <br /> <br />I believe that your staff has received a copy of the floodplain study <br />for the Fraser River and Tenmile Creek prepared by Wright Water Engineers <br />in February 1984 for the Silver Creek West Subdivision, which was annexed <br />to the town in June 1985. Please review the study for adequacy, as that <br />incorporates the major floodprone areas of the town. I would also like <br />you to analyze the Fraser River floodplain for some distance both <br />upstream and downstream from Silver Creek West to provide information <br />on the areas that will likely be proposed for annexation in the next <br />several years.
