<br />TRINITY RIVER BASIN <br /> <br />OB055700 Bachman Branch at Dallas, Tex. <br /> <br />LOCATION.--lat 32051'39", long 96049'53", Dallas County, on left bank at end of Bluffview Boulevard 'in Dallas. 1,300 ft downstream <br />from bridge on Northwest Highway, 1.9 miles upstream from Bachman Lij,ke Dam, and 6.0 miles northwest of Dallas City Hall. Prior <br />to May 1. 1970, at bridge on Midway Road, 2.300 ft downstream. <br /> <br />DRAINAGE AREA.--9.58 sq mi. Area at site used prior to May 1. 1970, 10.0 sq mi. <br /> <br />PERIOD OF RECORD.--October 1963 to current year. Records since May 1, 1970, are equivalent to earlier records. <br /> <br />GAGE.--Water-stage recorder. Datum of gage is at mean sea level. PriQr to May 1, 1970, at site 2,300 ft downstream at same datum. <br /> <br />AVERAGE DISCHARGE.--B years, 9.14 cfs (12.96 inches per year, 6,620 aCre-ft per year). <br /> <br />EXTREMES.--Current year: Maximum discharge. 3,4BO cfs Aug. 14 (elevation. 466.57 ft, from floodmtlrks). from rtlting curve extended <br />above 1,330 cfs; minimum. 0.02 cfs Sept. 18. <br />Period of record: !ltaximum discharge, 16,000 cfs Apr. 2B. 1966 (elevation, 467.97 ft, fanner site), from rating curve extended <br />above 4,000 cfs on basis af contracted-opening measurements of 5.300, 9,200, and 16,000 cfs; no flow at times most years. <br />Maximum stage since at least 1900, that of Apr. 28. 1966. Flood of Oct. 8, 1962. the second highest flood since 1900. reached <br />an elevation of 465.6 ft (discharge, 9,200 cfs) at fanner site. <br /> <br />REMARKS.--Records fair.
