The study was performed under authority <br />of the Flood Plain Managem(:nt Services Program and Section 206 of the Flood Control Act of 1960, <br />PL 86-645, as amended, and the Flood Control and Coastal Emergencies Program, PL 84-99, as <br />amended. <br /> <br />The report describes the flooding experienced along the Arkansas River and its main <br />tributaries from Pueblo to Las Animas, Colorado, between April 29 and May 2,1999. A review of <br />the flood history is presented, and the current flood management systems are described and their <br />performance evaluated.
