<br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />RADEF-7 <br /> <br />REGIONAL EMPHASIS <br /> <br />States should make a concerted effort to expand their RADEF <br />training capabilities by getting more qualified Categories II <br />and III instructors <br /> <br />REGIONAL EXPANDED GUIDANCE <br /> <br />I. Radiological Defense (RADEF) includes two programs: <br /> <br />A, Radiological Defense Planning and Development (RDP&D) <br />which provides 100% Federal funding for a fully <br />qualified State Radiological Defense Officer (RDO) <br />required to manage the overall RADEF Program and provide <br />technical assistance to local jurisdictions to develop <br />and maintain RADEF capabilities. <br /> <br />B. Radiological Instrument Maintenance and Calibration <br />(RIM&C) which provides 100% Federal funding for trained <br />and experienced electronic technicians required to <br />calibrate and maintain the Statewide RADEF instrument <br />inventory. <br /> <br />C. While both support development of comprehensive State <br />and local RADEF capabilities, they are FUNDED <br />SEPARATELY. <br /> <br />II. States must provide/submit separate Activity-Results Lists <br />and budget data for each of the programs. <br /> <br />III. Support to training and exercises by either of the programs <br />must be outlined on that program's Activity-Results List, <br />indicating the names of jurisdictions to be supported, type <br />of exercise or course, and quantity of work or support being <br />provided. <br /> <br />IV. The RADEF Program Management Plan shall be updated yearly as <br />prescribed by Chapter 5, paragraph 5-6c, CPG 1-3. <br /> <br />V. Activities-Results Lists, initial and quarterly reports, <br />should be supported by narrative comments/statements, as <br />required to clarify work efforts, products, delays or <br />deviations from the listed activities. <br />
