San Miguel County Designation
Town of Sawpit Designation Request

As of the completion of the San Miguel County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas FlS (dated
9/30/92), we have not received the Town of Sawpit's designation request letter. This
memorandum serves as a summary of the Town's assumed position on the designation based on
discussions with local officials,

The mayor of Sawpit, Mr, Mike Kimball, was contacted by phone on 11/29/00, Mr, Kimball did
not have problems with the designation, although he indicated that he would review the
materials, Mr, Kimball then indicated that he would locate the sample designation request letter
and return the actual designation request letter for the town, Subsequent phone calls were made
to Mr, Kimball in January 2001, with messages left on the answering machine. No return phone
calls were received.
