Los Angeles, San Diego, Riverside, Santil Barbara,
Orange and Ventura Counties:

, .

Six Southern California counties declared in 1995 are
among the top 11 NFIP Repetitive Loss Counties in
California. Los Angeles County is second only to Sonoma
County in the number of NFIP repetitive loss properties in
the State. There were initial reports of possibly 50 major or
substantially damaged structures throughout Southern
California. This included the loss of 18 to 25 mobile homes
in Oceanside.

Due to the high number of individual disaster assistance
registrations in this area, in conjunction with significant
numbers of repetitive loss claims, this area will be closely
reviewed and monitored for mitigation opportunities.

Petaluma, Sonoma County:

The City of Petaluma has 30 repetitive loss properties
including a mobile home park within the city which was
evacuated, While the park escaped flooding during this
event, it is subject to repetitive loss damage and is being
considered by city officials as a potential acquisition and
relocation project.

Rio Linda, (Unincorporated) Sacramento County

The community of Rio Linda has a chronic shallow flooding
problem. Approximately 230 structures were damaged
during the current event. Total repetitive damaged
structures are being surveyed. The State Reclamation
Board regulates the Dry Creek f100dway and is fully
coordinating permit procedures with Sacramento County,

11

..JJ...,J 'i1/;J;,.J;- R,,-I
~ 1995
