RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Floodplain Management Study, Town of
Limon, Colorado" dated September, 1982 has been prepared by the USDA Soil Conservation Service;
and

WHEREAS, said report includes detiiled fl(lodplain information for Big Sandy Creek and the
East, Middle and West Tributaries to Big Sandy Creek within the corporate limits of the Town of
Limon, as they were in September 1982; and

WHEREAS, the Colorado Water Conservation Board, as requested by the Town of Limon,
Colorado, by Resolution No. 207, adopted on January 1, 1983, designated and approved the floodplains
described in said report; and

WHEREAS, a floodplain information report entitled "Floodplain Insurance Study, Town of
Limon, Colorado" dated May 1984 has been prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency

WHEREAS, said report includes detailed floodplain information for those portions of Big Sandy
Creek and the East, Middle and West Tributaries to 8ig Sandy Creek within the corporate limits of the
Town of Limon, as they were in May 1984; and

WHEREAS, the detailed floodplain information in said report dated May 1984 is consistent with
the detailed floodplain information in the report previously designated by Resolution No. 207; and

WHEREAS, the Town of Limon, Colorado, has requested the Colorado Water Conservation
Board to designate llIld approve the floodplains set forth in said report; llIld

WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colontdo Revised Statutes, requires the Colorado Water
Conservation Board to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom; and

WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised Statutes, provide that
legislative bodies of local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along any
storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designation and approval by the Colorado Water
Conservation Board; llIld
