<br />WHEREAS, section 37-60-106 (1), COlorado Revised Statutes
<br />1973, requil:es the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in
<br />the prevent~on of floods and flOOd damages therefrom; anc],

<br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
<br />Statutes 1973" Provide that such legislative' bodies of local
<br />juriSdictions may provide zoning regulations 'for 'land uses "on or
<br />along any storm or flo,OcJwater rUnoff channel or basin only after
<br />designation, ancJ approval, by ,the ColoracJo,' Water' ConservC\tion
<br />Boardi and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106( 1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes.
<br />1973, directs the Colorado Wat'er Conservation Board to designate
<br />and 'approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or basins ,and' to'
<br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local
<br />jurisdictions; "and ' ,
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and
<br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water, Conservation Board
<br />that; the "Board des ignate and approve' as floodplain areas those
<br />areas, inundated bya 1 OO-year flood, (intermedi.ate reg ionalflood)
<br />as described by ti1e floodwater surface elevations and profiles. in
