short-term contracts with Washington Water Power Company (WWP),
Intermountain Consumers Power Association (ICPA), the Colorado River
Commission of the State of Nevada (CRC) and Utah Power and Light Company
(UP&L). With the exception of UP&L, it was assumed that commitments under
these contracts would be extended to the end of the study period either with
the above utilities or other entities. In ad~ition, it has been assumed
that after completion of the planned transmis~ion enhancements in western
Colorado in 1985 the magnitude of the firm po~er wheeled by CRSP will
increase by 100 MW. I
,
,

Western has nonfirm agreements for wheeling energy over the CRSP
transmission system based on short-term contracts. Based on amounts of
nonfirm wheeling provided in the past, 100 GWH is the estimated amount of
nonfirm energy that wi 11 be wheeled each year, for FY 1982 through 1984, and
400 GWh thereafter. The increase of 300 GWh ,i s based on the increased CRSP
transmission capability expected to be available after the planned western
, Colorado transmission enhancements have been made.
. I
Table 7 shows for each entity the annual quantities of power and
,
energy wheeled, the rates charged, and the revenues, assuming that the
proposed new firm and nonfirm transmission r~tes are made effective starting
April 1, 1983 for all entities except CRC and WWP. For these entities, the
existing contracts do not permit changes in the transmission rates.
Following is a tabulation of the rates used in Table 7.
,

Type of Effecti ve I
K~-Year Rate Rate Period Entities
M111 s/KWH
$ 1.59 Firm Thru 3-31-82 UP&L
1.75 " Study Peri oW SRP (575 MW Thru FY 1982)
Study periow (500 MW after FY 1982)
1.75 " Ute for 100 MW
6.60 " Thru 3-31-831 ICPA, NTUA, & 33 MW for SRP
,
6.60 " Thru FY 1985' CRG
6.60 " Thru 10-11-8~ WWP
* 10.27 " Starti ng 4-1 i~83 ICPA, NTUA,& 33 MW for SRP
* 10.27 " " FY 19811r Other
1.0 Nonfi rm Thru 3_31-83' All
** 2.0 " Starting 4-1~83 All

* Proposed new firm transmission rate
** Proposed new nonfirm transmission rate
1/ Not subject to adjustment until 2014

32
