Department of <br />Agriculture, Soil Conservation 'Service,at the request of <br />Chaffee County and the ColoradO Water Conservation Board1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the floOdplain <br />data and information for the storm and floodwater runoff <br />channels or basins of the study area 1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Chaffee <br />Couhtyhas requested the Colorado Water Conservation ,Board to <br />designate and approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the <br />aforesaid report1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado R~vised Statutes <br />1973, requires the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist <br />in the prevention of floods and flood damages therefrom1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-2B-lll, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legialative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide zoniAg regulations for land uses on <br />or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board 1 and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106 (1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwateJ:" runoff channels or basins and <br />to make such designations available to legislative bodies of <br />'local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year tlood (intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater surface elevations and profiles <br />in'said report; <br />
