r' r ,- B 970-246-3235 80743-0095 April 21, 1999 Mr. Larry Lang Chief, Flood Control and Floodplain Management Section Colorado Water Conservation Board 1313 Sherman Street, Room 721 Denver, CO 80203 Dear Mr. Lang; In accordance with Section 37-60'106 (1) (c) C.R.S., as amended, the Town of Otis is requesting that the Colorado Water Conservation Board consider the designation and approval of flood hazaard areas within the town's corporate limits, as depicted in the Flood Insurance Rate Map. Town of Otis. Colorado. Washington County, dated August 18, 1985, in the report entitled Town of Otis Master Drainage and Flood Study, dated May 1986, and on the map entitled Project Lavout. Drainage and Floodplain Improvements, dated January 1988. The Flood Insurance Rate Map, the Master Drainaqe and Flood Study, and the Project Layout map contain approximate floodplain information for Southwest Drainage and the Northern Drainage within Otis, which mayor may not be representative of some of the flood hazards in Otis. We request that CWCB staff review the Flood Insurance ~, the Master Drainage and Flood Study, and the Project Layout map for possible designation and approval at the CWCB's regular meeting scheduled for May 24-25, 1999. We would like for CWCB staff to examine in the field and discuss with town officials the information ,shown on the Flood Insurance Mac, the Master Drainage and Flood Study, and the Project Layout map. Subject to the findings of those discussions, we request that the approximate floodplain information contained in the Flood Insurance Rate Map, as refined with or replaced by selected information from the Master Drainage and Flood Studv and the Project Layout map, be designated by the Colorado Water Conservation Board.
