These include 7 <br />residences on Independence Court, I on Iris Street, 23 on Garrison Street, <br />the City of Wheat Ridge Field Park recreation facilities, commercial <br />structures on West 44th Avenue, 3 apartment buildings on Everp.tt Drive, and <br />73 residences adjacent to West 45th Pl ace. These structures which will <br />r811ain vulnerable to the regulatory flood, should be identified, notified of <br />their situation, and encouraged to purchase flood insurance. If any of <br />these structures are totally destroyed or sustai n sub stant i al diJ11age they <br />should not be rebuilt nor repaired, but acquired, and the land dedicated to <br />the City of Wheat Ridge for expansion of their Clear Creek Greenbelt Trail <br />Sys tem . <br /> <br />Channel Improvement Costs <br /> <br />Channel-Crossing Costs <br /> <br />Util ity Relocation Costs <br /> <br />Thp. City of Wheat Ridge should consider acqui sition or recreation easement <br />of that strip of vacant 1 and on the south side of the creek, between the <br />channel and the p.scarrrnent, for park and open space purposes thus combining <br />flOOdplain management and recreation. <br /> <br />TOTAL CONSTRUCTION COSTS <br /> <br />ENGINEERING AND CONTINGENCIES (3001, of Construction Costs) <br /> <br />FISCAL, LEGAL AND ADMINISTRATIVE (10% of Above Total) <br /> <br />The Ci ty of Wheat Ridge is proposing construction of a footbridge across <br />Clear Creek connecting Independence Court and Iris Street. Because of the <br />1 ack of avail able 1 and on the north side of the creek between Iris and Kip- <br />ling, it is recommended that the existing trail system cross Clear Creek at <br />the Independence/Iri s foot bridge, and connect to the Lena Gul ch/Kipl ing <br />improvements t.rail system thereby avoiding Kipl ing St.reet traffic.
