Tucker: The following Phase B report completes Agreement Number 79-6.5, Major Drain- ageway Planning for Lower Clear Creek, dated December 3,1979. Pl anning for lower Cl ear Creek has been accompl i shed in tlooO phases. Drain- age problems were defined, and alternative solutions were addressed and pre- sented in the Phase A report, publ ished in September, 1980. Project Engineer In Phase B, Prel iminary Design, pl an and profile drawings have been prepared showing the location and extent of the Master Pl an improvements. Accompany- ing each drawing is a description of the recommended improvements and the estimated construction costs. The selected plan, presented in Section VI, combines floodplain preservation with limited structural improvements to roadway and railroad crossings, rock riprap channel improvements, regul ation of the 100-year floodpl ain and resi- dual 100-year floodplain, and use of flood warning systems and flood insurance. n::-:'~; . \J ~ ~ ~ '~,;-q , ' ,*....." ; The projected total cost of the Major Drainageway improvements is $10,941,600 which incl udes the costs, in 1981 doll ars, for construction, property acquisition, engineering, contingencies, fiscal, legal and adminis- trative expenses. The total annual maintenance costs are estimated to be $215,000. A breakdown of these costs is presented with each of the pl an and profil e drawi ng s. These improve- ments should be constructed prior to the construction of the Colorado State Division of Highways (CSDH) channel improvements between West 52nd Avenue and Tennyson Street. The existing structures at Tennyson and Lowell are inadequate to handle the increased flows that will result from the CSDH channel improvements upstrean of these crossinos.
