SUMMARY
This report has identified the probable flooding limits of the loo-year flood event in the
Beebe Draw and Barr Lake Tributaries area.
The technical data used to develop the floodplain limits are based on: (1) planned fully
developed conditions in the basin. (2) existing drainage system in-place, (3) no blockage of
existing culverts and bridge openings and no diversion along roads, railroads or irrigation canals.
Even with these assumptions. floods of greater magnitude can and will occur in which the limits
of flooding will exceed those shown in this report.
Presently Beebe Draw, Redwing Creek. Meadowlark Run and Magpie Run are
considered to have a relatively low flood damage potential for the flood hazard areas. The
preservation and regulation of the floodplain will serve to maintain the present level of damage
potential while any improvements should minimize or reduce the flood damage potential.
Reducing the flood hazard potential can be accomplished through structural improvements to
culverts and channels, detention basins, flood proofing of structures, and an operational and
effective floodplain management program.

18
