MONTGOMERY WATSON <br /> <br />To: <br />From: <br />Date: <br />Subject: <br /> <br />Tom Browning, CWCB <br />Jerry Gibbens <br />April 27, 2001 <br />Boulder County and Incorporated Areas Designation <br />Town of Lyons Designation Request <br /> <br />As of the completion of the Boulder County, Colorado and Incorporated Areas PIS (PIS effective <br />date June 2, 1995), we have not received the Town of Lyons' designation request letter. This <br />memorandum serves as a summary of the Town's assumed position on the designation based on <br />discussions with local officials. <br /> <br />Mr. Gary Cinnamon was contacted by phone in November, 2000, and January and March, 2001. <br />Mr, Cinnamon indicated that the biggest problem with floodplain mapping is on St.Vrain Creek <br />as it leaves town. Lyons is coordinating with Boulder County on submitting a LOMR to FEMA <br />Due to delays, the Town has proceeded with the LOMR independently. CWCB has already <br />reviewed and approved the LOMR submittal so the Town will be submitting it to FEMA. It was <br />noted to Mr. Cinnamon that this designation will not take care of this process - the designation <br />and LOMR are parallel but separate process. Mr. Cinnamon indicated that he would draft the <br />designation request letter and return it to CWCB, but was not received prior to publication of the <br />report, <br />
