<br />FPR 198 .I <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sher~an Street <br />Denver, Colorado B0203 <br /> <br />August 16, 19B2 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br />- <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a floodplain' information report entitled "Flood <br />Hazard Information, Dolores River and Tributaries, Dolores, <br />Montezuma County, Colorado," dated September, 1978, has been <br />prepa~ed by the U.S, Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento <br />District, at the request of Montezuma County, and the Montelores <br />Planning Group; and ' <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said' report describes and outlines the floodplain <br />data and information' for the stot"m and floodwater runoff channels <br />or basins of the study area ; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Montezuma County and the Town of Dolores has <br />requested the Colorado Water, COl)servation Board to Ciesignate and <br />approve the floodplain areas as set forth in the aforesaid <br />report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br />1973, requires <br />the prevention <br /> <br />Section 37-60-10G(1), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />the Colorado Water Conservation Board to assist in <br />of floods and flood damages therefrom; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-301 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised <br />Statutes, 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions may provide, zoninq regulations for land uses on or <br />along any storm or floodwater nmoff channel or basin only after <br />designation and approval by the' Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1)(c), Colorado Revised Statutes <br />1973, directs the Colorado Watel:: Conservation Board ,to designate <br />and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or bas ins and to <br />make such designations available to legislative bodies of local <br />jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report and <br />does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation Board <br />that the Board designate and approve as, floodplain areas those <br />areas inundated by a 100-year flood ( intermediate regional flood) <br />as described by the floodwater Surface elevations and profiles in <br />said report; <br />
