<br />I. INTRODUCTION <br />Simons, Li and Associates, Inc. (SLA} 'las conducted a floocl..hazard <br />delineation study of the Cornet Creek alluvial fan in the town of Telluride, <br />Colorado. The preliminary results of this inve::;t'igation were summarizE,d in it <br />dra ft rE'port (SLA and 0' Bri en, 1989) and submitted to the FElder'll Emergency <br />Management Agency (FEMA) and the town of Te lluri dl; for revi ew on March 29, 1989, <br />A coordination meeting to review the draft report. was held on April :7, 1989, in <br />Telluride between representatives of SLA, the town, FEMA, and the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board (CWCB). As a result of the meeting, it was decided that <br />additional analysis was necessary to better ddine the distribution of flood <br />flows in the vicinity of the Cornet Creek alluvial fan apex. <br />A Special Problem Report (SPR) for conducting the necessary additionai <br />analysis was submitted to FEMA on April 12, J989. Approval of the SPR was <br />received by SLA from FEMA on June 22, 1989. SI"A, received detaned survey data <br />of the fan apex area from the town of TelllJY'icle for use in the supp'lementa'l <br />analysis on July 24, 1989. This document presents the results of the supplemen- <br />tal analysis of the fan apex hydraul ics using the updated survey da,ta and <br />flooding conditions on the Cornet Creek alluvial fan for the 100'year flood, <br /> <br />1.1 <br />
