I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

3

The lOO-year flood plain is shown on the Flood Hazard Area

Delineation Sheets, which illustrate the areas that would be

inundated by such an event. Flood profiles show the water

depths relative to the stream bed. The flood profiles and

flooded area data presented are based upon future, developed

conditions in the basin, as determined from current master

planning maps. Possible future improvements to control floods

are not a consideration of this report.

Acknowledgments

The report was prepared by Sellards & Grigg, Inc., Consulting

Engineers, Lakewood, Colorado, under contract with the Urban

Drainage and Flood Control District.

The hydrology was prepared by McCall - Ellingson & Morrill,

Inc. under a separate contract with the Urban Drainage and Flood

Control District as part of the Phase A report for Lakewood

and McIntyre Gulches in 1976 (Ref. 3).

The information presented herein does not imply any State ac-

tion to zone or regulate the use of flood plains. The District

has the authority to regulate flood plains, but to date has

chosen to leave flood plain regulation responsibility with

local governments. The report provides a suitable basis for

the adoption of land use controls to guide flood plain manage-

ment.

The survey control, aerial photography, topographic mapping,

and the base plan and profile sheets used in this report were

prepared by Bell Mapping Company, Denver, Colorado, under a

separate contract with the Urban Drainage and Flood Control

District.

Flood water surface elevations and flood plain boundaries are

often revised by road and bridge construction, flood plain de-

velopment, flood control improvements, or natural processes.

Prior to utilization of this report for planning or design

purposes, the user is advised to contact the Urban Drainage and

Flood Control District or the Colorado Water Conservation Board

to determine whether or not the information in this report has

been amended.
