No. 118 <br /> <br />) <br /> <br />COLORADO WATER CONSERVATION BOARD <br />823 State Centennial Building <br />1313 Sherman Street <br />Denver, Colorado 80203 <br /> <br />November 1, 1978 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 .N <br /> <br />WHEREAS, a report entitled "Flood Insurance Study, <br />County of San Miguel, Colorado," which includes floodplain <br />information and data for San Miguel River (at Placerville) <br />San Miguel River (near Telluride), San Niguel River Secondary <br />Channel, Fall Creek, and Leopard Creek, dated March, 1978, <br />has been prepared by Camp Dresser & McKee Inc" under contract <br />with the Federal Insurance Administration; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said report describes and outlines the <br />floodplain data and information for the storm and floodwater <br />runoff channels or basins of the study area; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, San Miguel County has requested the Colorado <br />Water Conservation Board to designate and approve the floodplain <br />areas as set forth in the aforesaid report; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised <br />Statutes 1973, requires the Colorado ,Water Conservation Board <br />to assist in the prevention of floods and flood damages there- <br />from; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado <br />Revised Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of <br />local jurisdictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses <br />on or along any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only <br />after designation and approval by the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised <br />Status 1973, directs the Colorado Water Conservation Board to <br />designate and approve storm or floodwater runoff channels or <br />basins and to make such designations available to legislative <br />bodies of local jurisdictions; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the staff .of the Board has reviewed said <br />report and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water Conservation <br />Board that the Board designate and approve as floodplain areas <br />those areas inundated by a 100-year flood (intermediate regional <br />flood) as described by the floodwater surface elevations and <br />profiles in said report; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water <br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, <br />Colorado, this 1st day of November, 1978, that it does hereby <br />designate and approve as floodplain areas those areas described <br />as being inundated by a 100-year flood as described by the <br />floodwater surface elevations and profiles in said report; and <br />
