<br />VERSION 1.0 1/12/95 <br /> <br />GETTING STARTED <br /> <br />Installing the Benefit-Cost proqram <br /> <br />Network <br />Systems <br /> <br />Computer networks may be set up and managed in many different <br />ways. Therefore, thil; manual cannot give detailed instructions for <br />inl;talling the Benefit-Cost Program on a specific network system. To <br />install the program on a computer which is connected to a network . <br />system, give the program disk and the User's Manual to your computer <br />system operator or network administrator. After installation is <br />completed, go to the Start QPW section on page 3-1. <br /> <br />Stand-Alone <br />Computers <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Turn on your computer. <br /> <br />2. If you are not at a DOS prompt (such as C:\>) either exit from <br />Windows to DOS, or select a DOS prompt from within Windows. <br />To exit from Windows, click on Eile on the menu, then click on <br />.Exit Windows. The program will display: ''This will end your <br />Windows Session." Click on OK. Your screen will show: C:\> <br /> <br />If your hard disk drive is designated 0, or some other letter, that <br />letter will appear in place of C. <br /> <br />3. Insert the first Benefit-Cost Program disk (3.5") in either the A <br />or B drive of your computer (whichever floppy drive is the high <br />density 3.5" drive). <br /> <br />4. At a DOS prompt (C:\>), <br /> <br />If the Program diskette is in the A drive, type: <br />A:INSTALL A: C: <br /> <br />Ifthe Program diskette is in the B drive, type: <br />B:INSTALL B: C: <br /> <br />Be sure to type the command exactly as written: do not <br />add spaces or change punctuation. The install routine will <br />automatically ask for the second Program disk at the proper <br />time. <br /> <br />5. The install routine will automatically create a new subdirectory <br />on your C drive: C:\BC_FLOOD <br /> <br />2-5 <br />
