<br />WHEREAS, a report entit:led "Flood Insurance study, Town
<br />of Telluride, colorado," which includes floodplain information and
<br />data for the San Miguel River anq Cornet Creek, dated March, 1978,
<br />has been prepared by Camp Dresse~ & McKee, Inc., under contract with
<br />the Federal Insurance Administrat:ion, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, said report d~scribes and outlines the floOdplain
<br />data and information. for the sto~m and floodwater funoff channels
<br />or basins of the study area, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the Town of T~lluride has requested the Colorado
<br />Water Conservation Board to desi~nate and approve the floodplain
<br />areas as set forth in the afores~id report, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1), Colorado Revised Statutes
<br />1973, requires the Colorado Wate~ Conservation Board to assist in
<br />the prevention of floods and flo~d damages therefrom, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Sections 31-23-201 and 30-28-111, Colorado Revised
<br />Statutes 1973, provide that such legislative bodies of local juris-
<br />dictions may provide zoning regulations for land uses on or along
<br />any storm or floodwater runoff channel or basin only after designa-
<br />tion and approval by the Colorado Water conservation Board, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, Section 37-60-106(1) (c), Colorado Revised Statutes
<br />1973, directs the Colorado Water conservation Board to designate and
<br />approve storm or floodwater runOff channels or basins and to make
<br />such designations available to legislative bodies of local jurisdic-
<br />tions, and
<br />
<br />WHEREAS, the staff of the Board has reviewed said report
<br />and does hereby recommend to the Colorado Water conservation Board

<br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Colorado Water
<br />Conservation Board in regular meeting assembled in Denver, Colorado,
<br />this 11th day of July, 1978, that it does hereby designate and
<br />approve as floodplain areas thOse areas described as being inundated
<br />by a 100-year flood as described by the floodwater surface elevations
<br />and profiles in said report, and
